About
House of Helia
/hee-lee-ah/
Helia, a feminine name of Greek origin meaning "sun", derived from "Helios", the sun god.
Helia, also a nod to Actinotus helianthi, the Flannel Flower. A stunning native Australian bloom, its botanical name Actinotus translating to "furnished with rays" or "sunbeam", and helianthi meaning "like a sunflower".
House of Helia is a home for sunlight and timeless linen garments - a space where natural beauty & slow craftsmanship meet. We create comfortable, breathable pieces inspired by the warmth of the sun & softness of the earth. This is a house where things made by hand & heart find their treasured place.

House of Helia was founded by Caitlin, an artist and designer born & raised in the Northern Rivers NSW. Caitlin began designing clothing in her early 20's and eventually started making some of her designs available for purchase. She experimented through a few different projects over the years, always learning along the way & staying true to her passion for sustainable clothing, ultimately leading her to open House of Helia in November 2025.
The fast-fashion industry is a damaging one, to both people & planet, hence House of Helia is founded on the ethos of sustainable fashion. This means garments made from natural fibres, slowly crafted locally & in small batches. Inspired by nature, designed to accentuate the beauty of our planet, not contribute to its destruction.
Our garments are designed so that after years of love & wear, they can be returned to the earth, buried or composted, soon leaving no trace of their existence other than your fond memories. All of our clothing is crafted with the utmost quality and care from 100% linen that is certified Oeko-Tex 100 standard. We use 100% cotton thread and labels on our garments and compostable, recyclable or reusable packaging for shipping.
