Privacy Policy — In Our Words
House of Helia
Effective Date: 18th November 2025
At House of Helia, we believe that honesty, care and craftsmanship should extend beyond the garments we make. This Privacy Policy explains, in simple language, how we handle your personal information when you visit our website or shop with us.
We follow the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we treat your details with the same respect we give to every piece we create.
1. What We Collect
To fulfil your orders and keep things running smoothly, we may collect information you share with us, such as your name, email, address, and the details needed to send your pieces safely to you.
When you browse our site, we also gather some basic, anonymous information like your device type and which pages you visit. This helps us understand how people experience House of Helia, and how we can make it even better.
We don’t keep your full payment details — those are handled securely by trusted third-party payment services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- process and deliver your orders
- stay in touch about your purchase or an enquiry
- create a smoother, more thoughtful online experience
- share updates or offers only if you’ve chosen to receive them
- keep our website safe and functioning
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time — no hard feelings.
3. When We Share Your Information
We don’t sell your information, ever.
We only share it with services that help us run the business, such as:
- Australia Post and delivery couriers
- payment processors
- website hosting and analytics tools
- marketing platforms (only if you’ve opted in)
They receive only what they need to do their job.
Some of these partners may be based outside Australia, but we take care to ensure they handle your information respectfully and securely.
4. Cookies
Our website uses cookies (the digital kind, sadly not the baked kind) to remember your preferences and help us understand how visitors move through our space. You can disable them through your browser settings if you prefer.
5. Keeping Your Information Safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access. No online system is perfect, but we are committed to keeping your data as safe as we can.
6. Access, Corrections & Your Choices
You’re welcome to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you
- request a correction if something isn’t right
Just reach out and we’ll happily help — we may ask for a little verification first for security.
You can also unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We hold onto your details only for as long as we need them — to send your orders, meet legal requirements, or keep business records up to date.
8. Updates to This Policy
Every so often, we may refresh this Policy to reflect changes in our store or in privacy laws. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top of the page.
9. Contact Us
If you ever have questions about how we handle your personal information, please get in touch. We’re here to help.

Terms & Conditions — House of Helia
Effective Date: 18th November 2025
At House of Helia, we craft clothing with care, intention and respect — and we aim to approach our policies the same way. These Terms & Conditions explain how our online store works, what you can expect from us, and what we kindly ask of you in return.
By visiting our website or placing an order, you’re agreeing to these Terms.
If something here doesn’t sit right, please reach out — we’re always open to a conversation.
1. Australian Consumer Law
House of Helia follows the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which means your rights as a customer are protected. Nothing in these Terms removes or replaces those rights.
If a product is faulty, unsafe, not as described or not of acceptable quality, the ACL entitles you to certain remedies — and we will honour them.
2. Our Products
We create women’s clothing made from natural linen, designed and made in Australia.
Please note:
- linen is a natural fibre, so slight variations in texture and tone are part of its charm
- colours may appear differently on different screens
- measurements are approximate as each piece is made with human hands
- all pieces are subject to availability
If something becomes unavailable after you’ve ordered, we’ll let you know right away and offer a refund or alternative.
3. Placing an Order
When you place an order, you’re making an offer to purchase. We may need to decline or cancel an order if:
- stock becomes unavailable
- we notice a pricing or listing error
- we suspect the transaction isn't legitimate
If we cancel an order after you’ve paid, you’ll receive a full refund.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Payment is required at checkout using the methods shown on the site.
If we ever make a genuine mistake in pricing, we may contact you before proceeding or refund the order — we promise to handle it with transparency and fairness.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Within Australia
We ship using Australia Post or other trusted carriers.
Delivery estimates are just that — estimates. Weather, peak periods, and postal delays are sometimes beyond our control, but we always do our best to get your pieces to you safely and promptly.
Risk in the parcel passes to you once it’s been lodged with the carrier, unless the law says otherwise.
International Orders
We’re grateful when our pieces find homes around the world.
Please note that:
- shipping costs and timeframes vary
- customs duties, import taxes and local fees (if any) are your responsibility
- overseas customs processing can sometimes introduce delays
Lost or Damaged Parcels
If something goes wrong during delivery, please contact us.
We’ll guide you through next steps and assist in lodging a claim with the carrier.
6. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
We want you to feel good in every piece you receive.
Please visit our Returns Policy page for this information.
Faulty Items
If you believe your item is faulty, please email us with details and photos.
We’ll assess it with care and follow the ACL in offering a repair, replacement or refund.
7. International Returns
International customers are welcome to return items, though return shipping costs sit with you unless the item is faulty.
8. Intellectual Property
Our designs, artwork, photography, branding and garments are created with time, skill and heart. They belong to House of Helia.
Please don’t copy, reproduce or use our content without written permission.
9. Using Our Website
We ask that you use our website respectfully.
This means no scraping, disrupting, hacking, or unlawful activity of any kind.
We may suspend access if the site is misused.
10. Limiting Our Liability
To the extent the law allows, House of Helia isn’t responsible for indirect or unexpected losses that come from the use of our website or delays outside our control.
This doesn’t replace your ACL rights — those always remain.
11. Privacy
We treat your personal information with care.
For full details, please read our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we protect it.
12. Changes to These Terms
As House of Helia grows and evolves, these Terms may change.
We’ll update the date at the top when that happens. Continued use of the website means you accept the updated version.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any disputes will be handled in NSW courts.
14. Contact Us
If you ever have questions about these Terms, please reach out.
We’re always happy to help.
